Dealer of the Year 2021

Whoohoo, it’s that time again: the announcement of the Dealer of the Year 2021!

2021 was just like 2020, a year with 12 months of turbulence combined with continued fast growth in sales to our customers. To officially end 2021 and start 2022 on the right foot we want to review last year and look forward to the new one.

Together with all our dealers, we have sold more than 75.000 parts to 9.500 customers in almost all countries within Europe. We also welcomed dealers from 8 new countries: the Czech Republic, Estonia, Slovakia, Bulgaria, Latvia, Romania, Portugal, and Slovenia. What makes a total of 1.000 dealer locations from 15 countries selling through BartsParts! Together we are offering more than 1 million different spare parts from more than different 1.600 brands.

At the end of 2020, one of our ambitious goals was to increase our joint inventory by 50%, broadening our offering, generating more sales for all of you. We are proud to share that we exceeded this goal with a joint inventory value growth of 70%, where the average dealer location in BartsParts is offering over 2,000 different references!

Furthermore, we optimized our webshop to improve customer experience, and to make sure we encouraged our one million visitors to buy your spare parts. This effort paid off; we more than doubled the number of visitors in our online warehouse compared to last year.

We love to celebrate successes together, and that is why we hand out the Dealer of the Year Award 2021! This year, we looked at each dealer location and decided on three different aspects:

  1. Best overall performance
  2. Highest revenue
  3. Largest inventory increase

And the winners are… (drumroll please!):

Dealer of the Year 2020

What a year it has been! 2020 was one of the most unique and challenging years we have ever had. Looking back we see 12 months of turbulence combined with an overwhelming increase in orders and struggle to keep up. We are entering 2021 with excitement and readiness for continued growth and expanding portfolio of valued partners. We would like to share with you some of the good stuff that happened over the past year.

BartsParts welcomed the first Spanish and Danish dealers and we made a big leap in increasing the number of partners in The Netherlands, Austria, Belgium, France and Germany. We ended the year with 650 dealers signed on as partners allowing us to offer over 100M EUR inventory to our customers all around the world. The number of visitors and customers in our stores doubled, which many of you will have noticed in increase of sales.

You, our partners, are the ones who have made this success possible for both you and us. We did have some struggles and sometimes were not able to keep up with the growing inventories, connecting you timely. We also had times during the migration to our new ecommerce platform, where we had an increase in order issues. We could not be more thankful for the cooperation, flexibility and commitment you showed us.

This is why we organize our annual Dealer of the Year award; a thank you to our partners, the core of our business, and perhaps a little incentive to keep working as hard as you are doing right now. The award is given to the highest scoring dealer of the year, based on generated revenue as well as customer support.

With so many of you giving it your best, it was not an easy decision. But in the end, two dealers stood out. The winners of the Dealer of the Year 2020 are…

  • Kraakman – Staadegaard Lieshout, from The Netherlands
  • Zörb – Landtechnik e.K., from Germany

Both partners have strongly supported us with their stock volume, accuracy and speed of follow up to all our requests. Together they generated close to 700 orders from BartsParts, a significant increase of sales from the previous year.

The Dealers of the Year will each receive a fabulous “BartsBasket” so that they can celebrate with their teams.

A look into 2021

With the goals reached in 2020, we have even more ambitious goals for 2021. For 2021 we will register 500 more dealers across Europe, some of them already waiting since last year. This will increase our joint inventory value to well over 170 M EUR, broadening our offering, generating more sales for all of you.

BartsParts presents a new webshop!

BartsParts has been facing continuous growth since 2019. Even during the past few months, that have been strange times for all of us, BartsParts has kept on growing: since January sales on our store have more than doubled. We currently hold over 700.000 different part numbers, provided by more than 650 different dealers and the numbers are still growing.

But, with more traffic, more dealers and more inventory, come more problems. Therefore, we would like to apologize for any issues that you may have experienced with your orders. We are doing our best to fix all the issues to keep serving you as well as we like. That is why we are happy to announce that we will be migrating our website to a much more efficient platform: this will improve the efficiency in synchronization issues with inventories, while maintaining the fast-buying experience you are used to. We’re sure you are going to like it!

The past and the future: SAME, brand of the month

Our love for oldtimers will never fade away. But on the other hand, who is not amazed by the technical innovations that make farming as easy as ever? Let’s take a look at how tractors have developed, as we compare the oldest SAME tractor to the newest.

The brand of the month, SAME, can’t be separated from the world of agriculture. Its rich agricultural history and contribution to the technological development of our machines make the ordinary Italian proud.

Although the brand SAME was not established until 1942, the founders of SAME, the Cassani brothers, broke new ground by being the first to install a diesel engine in a tractor: the Cassani Tractor 40 hp. A progressive project at the time, but nothing compared to the latest SAME line of tractors, The SAME Virtus Family. Although both have shown great innovation for their respective time frames, the differences are, unsurprisingly, enormous. Let’s see how they match up.

Before the diesel and other forms of engines were invented, efficiency was a large issue that tractors had. The average steam engine would have an efficiency rate of 10%, meaning that 90% of energy would get lost. The inventor of the diesel engine, Rudolf Diesel, was determined to improve the efficiency to a rate of 75%. Unfortunately, Rudolf Diesel was not able to observe his invention achieve an efficiency higher than 25%, which was still an accomplishment considering the average steam engine efficiency. The Cassani 40 hp was sustainable, but nothing compared to its older brothers of the SAME Virtus family. Utilizing technology like turbo-intercooler forced induction and electric engine management, efficiency rates can get up to around 50%. Simply put, the modern day SAME tractor saves twice the amount of fuel that the Cassani hp 40 consumes.

One thing is for sure, the Cassani hp 40 won’t be able to carry the load of maintaining the average farm nowadays. With 40 horsepower and a maximum speed of 15 km/h, the Cassani is nothing compared to the Virtus, where models start with 110 horsepower and maximum speed starts at 40 km/h. The Virtus is a true all-round workhorse, suitable for nearly all tasks that need to be taken care of on a daily basis. Its loading capabilities, power and versatility show how agricultural machinery has grown since the time of the Cassani, now that we are able to combine many different functions into one tractor.

And let’s not forget about the comfort. Oldtimers may be fun, but they don’t score high on comfortability, at least compared to the Virtus. Besides the fact that a complete cabin was missing from the Cassani, luxurious features such as optional air conditioning, a color-based, clear and simple dashboard and even a cool box to store your sandwiches are only a few examples of how the comfortability has changed.

No doubt, the technological developments have been evolutionary and made farming as easy as ever. But something about that simplicity and uncomfortability of those oldtimers, like the Cassani, still appeals to us. The comparison of these SAME tractors could not express that any better.

4 ways you can contribute to a sustainable agricultural sector

As the world’s population keeps growing and our environmental awareness is higher than ever, the pressure on the agricultural sector increases. After all, it is our sector that is responsible for feeding billions of people around the globe, whilst ensuring that we are not negatively impacting the environment. These are our top 4 ways you can make your contribution to the environment more sustainable.

1. Natural Pest Management

One of the biggest challenges we face when farming is pest management. Although synthetic pesticides or other chemicals are easy to use, it doesn’t serve as a long term solution and could negatively affect the soil. Natural Pest Management is the key to long-term sustainability and soil health. A diverse composition of crops is one way to naturally manage your pest, as pests are often attracted to one type of crop, and the presence of other crops keep them away. Another method would be to provide habitat for pest-eating predators. These could be ladybugs and fly parasites, but also birds and bats.

2. Crop diversity

Yes, economically it may seem more profitable to only grow a single crop in the field. Perhaps it is the only crop there is true demand for in your local market, or other crops simply do not grow as well in your climate. This monoculture, however, exhausts your soil, strongly degrading its quality. Planting a diversity of crops does not only keep your soil of great quality, but crop diversity also means more genetic diversity, meaning your crops are less susceptible to disease.

3. Drip irrigation

Traditional sprinkler systems cause more harm than you may think. Not only do they cause salinization, but they are not particularly economical when it comes to water usage. Try drip irrigation; a system where tiny holes are inserted at several points along a hose, allowing the water to slowly drip out of these holes exactly at the points where you need water. Save some water and irrigate your crops more accurately, what more could you wish for?

4. Buy & Sell at BartsParts

Yes, our platform is very sustainable! Sustainability was one of the main missions the company had in mind when it was established. Parts laying in warehouses for over 10 years are usually scrapped. Many obsolete parts are disposed of and much waste is produced. BartsParts makes sure supply and demand meet each other, as dealers have the opportunity to sell their obsolete stocks, extending the item’s lifespan. Farmers can find and buy hard-to-find parts that are not available at their local dealers. Winner dealer of the Year 2019

While closing 2019 and working on our ambitious goals for 2020, I wanted to look back at the highlights of the last 12 months and share the most important ones with you all.

2019 has been an extraordinary year for BartsParts. We have welcomed in BartsParts our first French, Polish and Italian dealers and we have strongly increased the number of partners in The Netherlands, Austria and Germany. As a result, we have successfully grown our dealer’s affiliations from 100 to over 550 and we have ended up the year with a total inventory value of 75 MEUR. The number of visitors and customers increases every day and the turnover increased by more than 200% in just one year.

The success of 2019 was achieved thanks to all you, our partners, and your cooperation and we would like to thank you for this. That is why the Dealer of the Year Award Program was initiated in 2018 as our way to say Thank You and encourage you all to keep on working for joint success. Through this award program, a select number of BartsParts connected dealerships are awarded for outstanding customer support and level of achieved revenue.

This year we did have many strong performers and the final decision was not easy to achieve. At the end, we decided to split the Award into the two most remarkable contenders. Thanks to all for making it so hard for us.

Both partners have strongly supported us with their stock accuracy and speed of reaction to all our requests. Wittrock also contributed to a fantastic article that was published in Eilbote magazine, which was the reason for many new dealers to engage with us.

We also want to award Special Mentions to the next top performers; both of them helped us with an extraordinary amount of new and complicated requests for new customers, at the same time that provided an excellent level of order fulfillment:

Outlook 2020

For this new year, we have some big milestones on our agenda, in order to achieve continuous growth. The dealer’s portal will be developed and offer you the opportunity to log in and directly upload your inventory. A new shop will be launched where customers will enjoy an improved user experience and driving increased traffic will be our priority, in order to achieve revenue growth. Of course, the goal of expanding our partners base to 1500 registrations by the end of the year will be achieved only by continuous growth into countries like Poland, France, Spain and Italy.

I sincerely hope that our service will increase your turnover, decrease obsolete stock levels and help you sell and find your parts.

BartsParts @ Agritechnica 2019

This year BartsParts did not want to miss the sector appointment in Hannover.

Especially with the traction that we are getting among the German dealers. Hence, we were invited by our partners Climmar and Bundesverband LandBauTechnik to be part of the International Dealer Center, on Hall 2.

The week we spent there has been one of the most fruitful ones we remember, mostly due to the number of visits that we received from dealers willing to become BartsParts partners. From here we want to thank all of you for your visits and your ideas to collaborate. We also want to thank Eilbote Magazine for the very appealing success story that was published with one of our partner warehouse in Germany.

Among the Climmar community, we want to thank also SedimaFedecom and Fedagrim for the interest shown to collaborate and help dealers with their stock issues.

We feel as well very touched by all the customer visits we received and to hear face to face how we have helped different customers to solve their needs of spare parts.

Another learning that we took with us is the big interest that we have attired by dealers in sectors like truck manufacturing and material handling equipment. We will work together to solve the issues in spare parts for all sectors.

Finally, thanks to the Agritechnica organization, especially to our host, DLG, to take good care of BartsParts team during the complete week.

We have moved to a bigger office

As we announced a few weeks ago, BartsParts keeps on growing in terms of dealers and inventory of spare parts. As a result, our team is also growing to better support our agricultural dealers and respond to the increasing demand of spare parts from many brands: This month we have exceeded the number of 1200 different brands in our inventory, which shows 500.000 different part numbers.

To accommodate the increased team, in November we moved to a new location in the center of Leiden, with 3 times the office space and potential to grow even further.

In December this year, we hosted a small Office Warming, where some of our local partners came to celebrate the growth with us. Thanks to all of you that took the time and effort to visit us. Being an eCommerce platform, we can not be as close as we would like to all our dealers, farmers and other partners, but we wanted to share it with you, and hope to be able to meet some of you in other events that will come next year.

Dealer of the year 2019

Once more BartsParts wants to thank all their partners. We started the year with 100 connected dealers, and we are closing 2019 with over 550 dealers, exceeding our initial target. Thanks to all new registrations, our current inventory value is over 70 MEUR. During this year we have welcomed in BartsParts our first French, Polish and Italian dealers, and we have strongly increased the number of partners in The Netherlands, Austria and Germany.

2019 has been also a growth year in terms of revenue, new customers and new countries. And all that is only possible thanks to our dear customers and, of course, to the support of our dealers.

Therefore, BartsParts is pleased to announce that we will be shortly selecting the winners of the Dealer of the year 2019. This will be the result of a service performance review considering revenue generated and the level of support to fulfill the orders and requests from our customers.

The winner will be announced beginning 2020.

NEW STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIP to facilitate the connection to your ERP software

BartsParts B.V. and Traser Software GmbH join forces. The inventory of Traser dealers can now be linked to the international sales platform of BartsParts. Thanks to additional functionality in Traser DMS software, Traser customers can easily and quickly sell their obsolete stock globally.

With the vision to help customers sell obsolete parts, Traser and BartsParts have joined forces, by means of facilitating a connection for data exchange between BartsParts platform and Traser DMS software. This will alsoallow the data Synchronizing between the platform and all warehouses where the software is used.

BartsParts research has proved that about 30% of the parts that are in stock at a dealer can be considered obsolete or slow movers. This means extra costs, time and space without this giving any value to the dealer. Until now there was no good and structural solution to this growing problem.

BartsParts offers the solution for every dealer to sell spare parts to customers all over the world at no extra cost, time and effort

With their DMS solution Traser already offers extensive stock management options that are now also directly in contact with the BartsParts parts platform. In this way, the dealer can easily upload the stock and it is then automatically synchronized with the virtual online warehouse of BartsParts.

With this strategic agreement in place, both companies will be soon reaching out to all current customers to see how to better implement the connection with them during the last quarter of 2019.
